Sending Your Photos

The safety and security of your memories is our topmost priority

For this reason, we recommend our Home Collection Service as the safest way of getting them to us. If you'd prefer to send them yourself, then we would recommend Royal Mail Special Delivery®.

However you send your memories to us, it's a good idea to send them wrapped in a Jiffy bag or in suitably sized box. A shoe box contains around 1000 photos, is pretty strong and is usually a good size to send through the post.

You might not want to send your items to us at all: you might prefer to bring them to us in person. People who live locally to us in Kendal have done just that. Other people have combined a holiday in the Lake District with a visit to our offices. You'd be most welcome! There's no need to make an appointment as there's almost always somebody about during office hours. But, if this is not convenient, give us a ring, and we can arrange to have someone here for when would be.

Package up your memories, ready for collection

Pack Your Memories

Pack up your slides, photographs, negatives, video tapes, or whatever else you're sending us to be digitised; a Jiffy bag, or suitably sized cardboard box is best for this. Don't forget to enclose your contact details, including a phone number and email address. Write our postal address prominently on the outside of the package and contact us to let us know your order is ready.

At the same time, let us know on what day and where you'd like your memories collecting from. This can be your home, workplace or whatever address you like. If you let us know before 10am, the collection can sometimes happen on the same day. Usually though, we need around 24 hours notice.

Our courier collects your memories

We contact our courier who will pick up your order on whatever week-day you've specified.

The next working day, your package will arrive at PiciScan and we will contact you, usually by email, to let you know that your memories are safely with us. And, as soon as we can, we will get on with scanning your order. Or, if you've selected, 'Rapid Service,' at the time of ordering, we'll get on it right away.

What could be simpler?

Please note: your package will usually need signing for when it is collected and this can happen at any time between 9am and 5pm. If there is not likely to be anyone at home during this time, simply have us collect it from your workplace, an alternative address, or your nominated secure place. If your order is collected on a Friday it will arrive with us on the following Monday.

We cannot accept responsibility for the loss of or damage to any of your slides, photos, and/or negatives if they haven't first been securely packaged.
