I’m lucky in that my husband is “The Gardener” in our household. He’s the one who mows the lawn, trims the shrubbery when it gets out of control and we have an annual trip to a wonderful garden centre to stock up on the bedding plants which will set the colour scheme for the year. I love the hanging baskets that he plants up although only water them when he is too busy!
I’m the one who drags him round stately homes to look at their gardens as well as National Trust gardens to see unusual plants and get ideas. One the way I take photographs of plants and settings but have been taking lots of pictures of my own garden recently as I’m going to take a “Photography Course for Beginners” in the near future to help me with my blog pictures and make them better for you, gentle reader.
Do you have a collection of photographs, slides or negatives which are of plants or gardens? Maybe there are a few taken on your different holidays or visits to grand houses. Perhaps you have pictures of your now grown up children turning cartwheels on a very grand lawn or playing hide and seek in an arboretum. Have you thought about gathering all of them together on one disc which could play on your digital photoframe, put on your computer’s wallpaper & change frequently or even better – surprise the Gardener of the household by collating images of “their garden” into a photobook and give as a Christmas present! If you have one wonderful shot why not make it into a stretched canvas print for your house.
